IAWP Program Director and Associate Chair for Graduate Studies inMedia Studies Lori Emersonis also an associate professor in the Media Studies department and founding director of the . She writes about media poetics as well as the history of computing, media archaeology, media theory and digital humanities. Her current book project is titledOther Networks, a history of telecommunications networks that existed before or outside of the Internet.

Her published books includeTHE LAB BOOK: Situated Practices in Media Studies, co-written with Jussi Parikka and Darren Wershler (University of Minnesota Press, 2022) andReading Writing Interfaces: From the Digital to the Bookbound(University of Minnesota Press, 2014).
