IAWP Program Director and Associate Chair for Graduate Studies inÌýMedia Studies Lori EmersonÌýis also an associate professor in the Media Studies department and founding director of the . She writes about media poetics as well as the history of computing, media archaeology, media theory and digital humanities. Her current book project is titledÌýOther Networks, a history of telecommunications networks that existed before or outside of the Internet.

Her published books includeÌýTHE LAB BOOK: Situated Practices in Media Studies, co-written with Jussi Parikka and Darren Wershler (University of Minnesota Press, 2022) andÌýReading Writing Interfaces: From the Digital to the BookboundÌý(University of Minnesota Press, 2014). She is co-editor of three collections:ÌýThe Johns Hopkins Guide to Digital Media, with Marie-Laure Ryan and Benjamin Robertson (2014);ÌýWriting Surfaces: The Selected Fiction of John Riddell, with Derek Beaulieu (Wilfrid Laurier University Press, 2013); andÌýThe Alphabet Game: a bpNichol Reader, with Darren Wershler (Coach House Books 2007).
