The Astronaut Scholarship Foundation seeks outstanding students who exhibit motivation, imagination, and exceptional performance in the fields of engineering and natural or applied sciences.

Astronaut Scholarship Information

The Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Program was created in 1986 to encourage outstanding students to pursue careers in mathematics, the natural sciences, or engineering and to foster excellence in these fields. A strong candidate will have had the opportunity to participate in research, either at his or her institution, in local industry, or in a national research facility. Abilities and potential are also shown through meeting significant responsibilities, involvement in science-related organizations, and accomplishments outside the classroom.

Goldwater Information

The Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation awards college students who wish to attend graduate school in preparation for careers in government or elsewhere in public service. They will receive leadership training, graduate school counseling, preferential admission, and merit based aid to some premier graduate institutions, and internship opportunities with federal agencies. Scholars are required to work in public service for three of seven years following completion of a Foundation funded graduate degree program as a condition of receiving funding. The Foundation defines public service as employment in government at any level, uniformed services, public-interest organizations, nongovernmental research and/or educational organizations, public and private school, and public service oriented non-profit organizations.

Truman Information

The Udall Foundation seeks sophomores and juniors who are committed to careers related to the environment, tribal public policy, or Native American health care. They look for future leaders across a wide spectrum of environmental fields, including policy, engineering, science, education, urban planning and renewal, business, health, justice, and economics.
