Sarah has worked with the Office of Victim Assistance (OVA) in various roles since 2012; including Victim Advocate Counselor, Assistant Director, Interim Director, OVA Consultant and as of July 2024 is the Senior Victim Advocate Counselor and and Outreach Manager. Sarah received her Bachelor's degree in sociology and women's studies from Tulane University and her Master's in social work from Smith College School for Social Work in 2011. Sarah has experience providing short term therapy, long term therapy in her own previous private practice, advocacy, clinical supervision and consultation, and group work. Sarah has previously facilitated therapy groups for survivors of sexual assault through Moving to End Sexual Assault (MESA), Boulder's Sexaul Assault resouce center. Sarah also created and co-facilitated the queer and trans parent group for Out Boulder County. Sarah cares deeply about providing trauma informed counseling and advocacy services. The way people respond to survivors, people impacted by trauma, can make the difference if someone will seek out further support. Sarah aims to create a space in which people seeking services from OVA feel heard, believed and empowered to make informed decisions that are right for them.
