LISA (Laboratory for Interdisciplinary Statistical Analysis) was created at the University of Colorado Boulder on October 20, 2016. It is a next generation statistical collaboration laboratory聽based on the model of the Laboratory for Interdisciplinary Statistical Analysis at Virginia Tech (2008-2016), which was created by LISA Director Eric Vance in 2008. LISA鈥檚 mission is to train students to become interdisciplinary collaborators, provide infrastructure to enable and accelerate high impact research, and engage with the community to improve statistical skills and literacy.
Our statistical collaborators are being trained to聽help design experiments, studies, and surveys; collect, analyze, and plot data; run statistical software; interpret results; and develop strategies to communicate statistical concepts and results to non-statisticians.
The collaborators are faculty and students from several departments, including the Department of Applied Mathematics. The original cohort of LISA聽collaborators had profiles on our website聽so you could聽put a face to the name before your first meeting, but this has not been updated in years. (August 26th update: this still hasn't been updated).聽Faculty not listed may be available for collaboration on a case-by-case basis if your project aligns with their research interests.
