The Office of Diversity, Equity, and Community EngagementÌý(ODECE) is kicking off a new eventÌýseries this fall semester, Inclusive Workplace Community of Practice, onÌýWednesday, Sept. 12.

The first session will feature guest presenterÌý, head of talent at Reddit. She willÌýfocus on theÌýpolicies, strategiesÌýand lessons learned while implementing inclusive workplace practices. Currently, Holloway is transforming the Reddit culture with parenthood initiatives and practices, anÌýexample that will provide thought leadership and ideas to our own community.

Holloway will giveÌýa briefÌýpresentation followed by an interactive session, lasting an hour and a half in total.

Making Excellence Inclusive in the workplace

ODECE began theÌýuniversity-wide initiative Making Excellence InclusiveÌýwith a focus on inclusive pedagogy—how professors can make their classrooms more inclusive.

This year, ODECE will focus its effortsÌýon employees and student-workers and makingÌýthe university a more inclusive workplace.ÌýThe focus is not only on race and ethnicity but also on a wide variety of other diversity and identity factors that may contribute to a need for more inclusive practices in the workplace.
