TheÌý, in collaboration with theÌýUnited Government of Graduate Students (UGGS), invites graduate and professional students from all disciplines to participate in a poster session with lightning talks forÌý. Deadline extended.Ìý

Event Details

  • Wednesday, October 16th (5:30–7:30 p.m.)Ìýin the Idea Forge. 200+ attendees are anticipated. Faculty, students at all levels, staff, industry partners, media and the general public will be invited.
    • This session is appropriate for posters/talks related to any area covered by CU BoulderÌýresearch, scholarship and creative works.
    • Posters/talksÌýwill be organized according to overarching themes: Cultivate, Sustain, Discover, and Engage.

Posters and lightning talks may present research, creative works,Ìýinventions and more. The only restrictions are that posters and lightning talks must fit within the size/time restrictions outlined below. We welcome novel presentation methods and styles, whether it is an original song for the lightning talk, photos of a performance for a poster, excerpts from a creative writing projectÌýor an interactive poster for explaining research. Guidelines for Submission

  1. Presenting authors are limited to 1 submission per session.
  2. Presenting authors must commit to being present for the entire event.
  3. Presenting authors may indicate a preference for a poster and/or lightning talk as well as their session of choice with their submission.
  4. Poster dimensions should be 48 inches (4 feet) wide by 36 inches (3 feet) high.
  5. Lightning talks will be 3 minutes with 2 additional minutes for questions.

Instructions for Submission

Presenting authors will provide anÌýabstractÌý(max. 250 words) for submission evaluation. Submissions will be evaluated via panel comprised of United Government of Graduate Student members and affiliates.ÌýNote:ÌýDo notÌýinclude your title, funding information, any graphics, or authors' names in your abstract. References are encouraged, butÌýdo notÌýinclude a reference list.

Award Information

The United Government of Graduate Students (UGGS) will select 5 graduate student abstracts from the submission portal to receive free printing service for their posters. Additionally, a judge panel will attend the session on October 16th to select three graduate student posters and one lightning talk for an awardÌýwith aÌýsmall monetary prize.
