The university will lead a five-year, $10 million NSF-funded initiative called MATCH, or Multi-Tier Assistance, Training and Computational Help, to reimagine cyberinfrastructure user support services and delivery to keep pace with the evolving needs of academic scientific researchers.

鈥淭his collaboration will expand government access to critical climate data and science, encourage the exchange of public information, and support the work being done at CU Boulder鈥檚 12 research institutes and more than 75 research centers,鈥� said Terri Fiez, vice chancellor for research and innovation at CU Boulder.

Currently, there is only one system physicians can use to get down to the bottom of the lungs鈥攁 rigid catheter that could potentially cause inflammation. The student team is working with medical device company Medtronic on making the tip of this catheter more flexible to increase control and reduce abrasion.

The Distinguished Research Lectureship is among the highest honors bestowed by the faculty upon a CU Boulder colleague. Each year, the Research & Innovation Office (RIO) requests nominations and a faculty review panel recommends one or more faculty members as recipients.
