Our research focuses on the development of new techniques to interface and control both solid-state and atomic excitations at the quantum level. Using cavity optomechanical and circuit QED techniques, we develop new strategies to utilize long-lived phonons as a quantum resource.  Through complementary activities, we also develop scalable new cavity and waveguide technologies that permit efficient interfacing and control of atoms and defect centers for sensing and quantum networking applications.
