Membership in the Wind Symphony and Symphonic Band is determined solely by auditions. Each audition is 7-10听minutes in length and听each applicant should prepare the downloadable excerpts;听all auditions will take place in Grusin Music Hall,听Imig Music Building.听Wind auditions for the CU Symphony Orchestra will take place simultaneously.听
Seating placement auditions for the Concert Band + Campus Band are held at the first rehearsal of each semester.听
Required performance听attire for CU Bands
Option 1: Black tuxedo, white shirt, black bow tie, black dress shoes and black socks.
Option 2: Floor-length black skirt, black pants (no denim) or black dress. Long-sleeved black blouse, black dress shoes and听simple jewelry. No bare shoulders, necklines or midriffs.

Concert Band + Campus Band auditions
Non-music majors: There is a band for you at CU Boulder! You are welcome to audition for Wind Symphony and Symphonic Band. We also offer听the following options:
Concert Band (EMUS 1317/3317 sec. 001) is comprised of a combination of music and non-music majors. This ensemble meets on Monday evenings in the fall semester and Monday and Wednesday evenings in the spring semester.听Campus Band (EMUS 1317/3317 sec. 002) is comprised of mainly non-majors and meets on Monday evenings in the spring semester, only (times TBD). These groups are both non-auditioned ensembles.
