Alan has had a diverse and interesting life with many opportunities for leadership roles starting as an eagle scout, commander and general officer in the Air Force, Chief Executive Officer, community leader and active board member with non-profit organizations.

He served in the Air Force, flew 100 fighter combat missions, commanded two bomber wings including the first operational B-1B bomber wing for the United States, headed operations and joint strategic planning for Strategic Air Command, served as an international officer in NATO, worked for General Colin Powell on The Joint Staff with doctrine and training in the Pentagon, and retired as a Major General. Following the Air Force, he had an extensive career in business with Gemini Consulting, American Management Systems, Inc. and CACI, Inc. He was CEO of a cyber company, Command Information, Inc., and he currently serves on the Advisory Board for Sunlight Aerospace, Inc.

 Alan has been very active as a board member with many non-profit organizations and is a Leadership Fellow with the National Association of Corporate Directors. He is committed to public service and served for fifteen years on the IT Executive Council, Kogod Graduate School of Business, American University in Washington DC and eight years on the USAFA Association of Graduates Board and is presently a long-term Trustee on The Falcon Foundation. He was honored with the Downtown Boulder Community Service Award and served as the Chair, Downtown Boulder Partnership Board. He is a mentor and strong supporter for the Boulder CU Leadership Program.

He graduated from the United States Air Force Academy with a BS and earned an MBA with distinction from Harvard Business School. He attended the Air War College and the Senior Defense Managers Course at the Harvard Kennedy School.

Alan and his wife, Linda Peterson Rogers, PhD, reside in Boulder and greatly enjoy family activities with their children and grandchildren and investing, traveling, skiing, cycling, and hiking.
