The Leadership Colorado Needs

Join leadership practitioners from across the state for a day of connection and learning as we discuss how to address the challenges and opportunities facing our communities and institutions. Programming will include a networking lunch, afternoon breakout sessions, a keynote from a leadership futurist, and an evening reception.

The program is intended for leadership practitioners who serve as program staff at leadership organizations that work on college campuses, in communities, or represent civic leadership entities.

Convening leadership practitioners from across the state will result in greater collaboration and connection across Colorado鈥檚 leadership ecosystem. Keynote Speakers

Plenary Session: Bridge Building for Colorado Leaders

As leaders, we often encounter situations that require us to navigate differences and build bridges between diverse groups. This 45-minute session will provide an in-depth exploration of bridge building, what it is and what it isn鈥檛, and the critical role of compassionate listening in fostering meaningful dialogue.

Participants will learn how finding shared identities can expand our circles of concern and enhance our ability to connect with others. We will also focus on the importance of respecting individual identities while seeking broader connections.

Juliana Tafur directs the Bridging Differences program at UC Berkeley鈥檚 Greater Good Science Center, where she works to foster a culture of understanding and belonging in the United States and beyond through science, storytelling and strategic partnerships. Juliana recently moved to Colorado to lead the Greater Good Science Center's work in Belonging Colorado鈥攁 multi-year initiative in partnership with the Denver Foundation to bring people together in new ways, grow resilience in Colorado, and expand Coloradans鈥� sense of who belongs.

Keynote Session: Theo Edmonds

Futurist Theo Edmonds will discuss the future of leadership and get participants听imagining the future.

Theo Edmonds is a Cultural Futurist庐; Research Associate Professor & Directing Co-Founder, Imaginator Academy, University of Colorado Denver.

In this dynamic 90-minute workshop, we'll equip leadership practitioners with the tools and strategies to harness the transformative power of AI. Through interactive exercises and real-world case studies, you'll discover how AI can supercharge every aspect of your leadership programs.

This workshop is designed for leadership professionals who are committed to fostering diverse viewpoints to drive innovation and enhance civic decision-making. Through interactive activities, reflective exercises, and practical strategies, participants will learn how to embrace and incorporate diverse perspectives in their leadership practices. This session will provide a dynamic and engaging platform for leaders to develop new skills and create actionable plans.

The Center for Expanding Leadership and Opportunity (CELO) works with collegiate leadership programs across the country to implement the Multi-Institutional Study of Leadership (MSL). MSL provides a roadmap for delivering against the promise of access, quality, and impact in leadership education听drawing on 18 years of data representing more than 600,000 college students across 450 higher education institutions. This includes the identification of high-impact pedagogical practices that accelerate learning. This interactive workshop will introduce participants to these practices, map how they are integrated into participants' own programming, and provide tangible tools and resources for advancing the access, quality, and impact of leadership programming at all levels. 听听听
