Plenary Session: Bridge Building for Colorado Leaders

As leaders, we often encounter situations that require us to navigate differences and build bridges between diverse groups. This 45-minute session will provide an in-depth exploration of bridge building, what it is and what it isn’t, and the critical role of compassionate listening in fostering meaningful dialogue.

Participants will learn how finding shared identities can expand our circles of concern and enhance our ability to connect with others. We will also focus on the importance of respecting individual identities while seeking broader connections.

Juliana Tafur directs the Bridging Differences program at UC Berkeley’s Greater Good Science Center, where she works to foster a culture of understanding and belonging in the United States and beyond through science, storytelling and strategic partnerships. Juliana recently moved to Colorado to lead the Greater Good Science Center's work in Belonging Colorado—a multi-year initiative in partnership with the Denver Foundation to bring people together in new ways, grow resilience in Colorado, and expand Coloradans’ sense of who belongs.
