  • Ph.D,ÌýChemical Engineering, University of Florida (2013)
  • B.S.,ÌýChemical Engineering, University of Delaware (2007)

Casey was born and raised in Princeton, NJ. Casey graduated with a Bachelors of Chemical Engineering from University of Delaware in 2007, where she also minored in Women Studies and Material Science. Casey received her PhD from University of Florida in 2013. Her dissertation work focused on the crater formation in granular material under impinging vertical gas jets, with applications to debris mitigation hazards during lunar and martian landings. Casey's interests include photography, hiking, kayaking, snorkeling and cycling. Casey is currently working on developing an understanding of the fluidization regimes for Group A/C particles, which have high surface area to volume ratios and cohesive inter-particle forces begin to dominate.
