Education

  • B.Sc., Chemical and Environmental Engineering, Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (2010)

Alan graduated from Tecnologico de Monterrey (Mexico) in 2010 with the highest honors the school confers. He joined Team Weimer to work on the use of atomic and molecular layer deposition to design better catalysts. Currently he is working on the use of molecular layer deposition as a way to create porous matrices to fixate dispersed catalysts in place, preventing sintering, poisoning and grafting, increasing their active life and decreasing their cost.Ìý

During his time as a graduate student Alan has also served as Representative of the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering in the United Government of Graduate Students (UGGS) as well as Senator of the Graduate School at the Student Government of the University of Colorado Boulder (CUSG).Ìý

In his free time, Alan enjoys reading, writing, coding and performing physical activities in the Colorado landscape such as hiking, biking and obstacle racing.Ìý
