Kathryn begins Chickadee Song Dialect Project
While most people have put their lives on hold to practice social distancing, Spring isn't slowing down--Daffodils continue stubbornly pushing to the sky & chickadees keep singing their hearts out. Maybe it's reassuring that in the midst of all this social & scientific disruption, nature is continuing forward with no delays. This week, Kathryn will begin recording chickadee songs in and around Boulder, CO for a project describing Colorado Chickadee Dialects. This project is in collaboration with Dr. Carrie Branch, a Rose Post-doctoral Fellow at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology who will be recording chickadee songs in Ithaca, NY and Reno, NV.
