The underlying goal of our research is to uncover molecular mechanisms governing mammalian gene expression. In particular we are interested in understanding the regulation of mRNA transcription and how specific miRNAs post-transcriptionally regulate gene expression. To this end, we use a combination of biochemistry, molecular biology, cell-based techniques, molecular genetics, and single molecule studies to investigate regulatory mechanisms in multiple systems.
