The Program in Jewish Studies and the at the University of Colorado Boulder seek a tenure-track assistant professor or tenured associate professor in Israel/Palestine Studies with specialized training in history. The position will start August 2018, and the person hired will have completed all requirements for the PhD in history (or a related discipline such as Jewish Studies or Middle Eastern Studies) by then. The successful candidate will be proficientÌýin Hebrew and Arabic, be expected to participate in undergraduate and graduate teaching, conduct independent research, lead regular global seminars to Israel (and the West Bank, if possible), and contribute to the intellectual and institutional life of the Program in Jewish Studies. The successful candidate will be rostered in the History Department but teach three out of her or his four classes per year under the auspices of the Program in Jewish Studies. Requirements include:

  • A PhD in History or a related discipline such as Jewish Studies or Middle Eastern Studies.
  • Proficiency with Hebrew and Arabic.
  • ABDs will be considered, but the Ph.D. degree in History/related disciplines must be conferred by August 20, 2018.
