Sierra Brown
Marketing and Communications Writer & Content Coordinator
Operations

Office: ENVD 301A

Originally from Sacramento, California, Sierra (she/her) earned her B.S. in molecular environmental biology at UC Berkeley and then moved up to Seattle for an AmeriCorps position with a habitat restoration nonprofit. After spending every day working outside in urban forests, covered in blackberry brambles and soaked to the bone by the notorious Washington rainfall, she decided to take some relaxing time off to thru-hike the 2600-mile Pacific Crest Trail.

Witnessing climate disasters and environmental impacts on the trail inspired her to pursue a graduate degree at CU Boulder in urban resilience and sustainability with the Masters of the Environment Professional Graduate Program. During this time, she first joined Environmental Design’s marketing and communications team as a student writer. Upon graduating, she rejoined the program as the temp marketing/communications writer and content coordinator, where she now writes news stories and feature articles, develops program newsletters and supports content creation for ENVD’s communications platforms and channels.Â
