Arbor Day Tree Planting Event

The American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) is hosting anArbor Day Tree Planting event in collaboration with the CU campus arborist to plant more trees on campus for Arbor Day. All are welcome to participate! Be sure to wear closed toe shoes and be prepared to get dirty. Breakfast and coffee will be provided.

Guest lecture by Ashby Sachs, PhD, is a postdoctoral fellow with the Barcelona Institute of Global Health (ISGlobal) researching nature-based interventions for loneliness. Ashby recently received her PhD in environmental studies at CU Boulder. She completed her BA in French languate and minor in landscape architecture at UVA and a MS fellowship in public horticulture with Longwood Gardens and the University of Delaware.

Earthday Everyday event at the Outdoor Classroom
Saturday, April 29 | 10-2 p.m. |Lafayette Rec Center area
Lafayette Open Space is looking for students to participate in the Earthday Everyday event at the Outdoor Classroom.Students are invited to help at this event in one or more of the following ways:
Exhibit at event like other exhibitor– have table with their projects or some display about what they are working on in their coursework(3-4 people)
Lead a tour for VIP audience around outdoor classroom –meet on site with Martin Ogle to discuss ideas for tour.Run a 30-45 minute tour(2-3 students)
“Pitch” and facilitate scavenger hunt activity –CU students could help draw people’s attention to this scavenger hunt, orient people where/how to start, and even start the process with some participants by leading them on the first part of the trail and giving a brief intro to the area (festival participants will have option to participate in this scavenger hunt to receive Open Space T-shirts (4-6 students)
