Last Friday, Instructor Neal Evers and HMH Architecture + Interiors Principal Architect Harvey Hine, an ENVD alum, were awarded with an AIA Colorado Award of Distinction for their Modern Stair design. The Modern Stair design was created specifically for the Sloan鈥檚 Vista house.

ENVD Associate Professor Susannah Drake was featured in a recent New York Times article. Drake, the founder of Brooklyn's DLANDstudio, was highlighted in a fall preview featuring design projects that suggest "that hard barriers between the designed environment and the natural one are softening鈥搈aybe for good." ENVD students help create Boulder鈥檚 first-ever child-friendly city map

Any parent knows that traditional maps are not designed with kids in mind. But a new child-friendly city map is helping kids learn how to navigate their way around Boulder, thanks to Growing Up Boulder, a CU Boulder program that partners with Boulder Valley School District and the City of Boulder. The map, and the event to celebrate the map, are free to the community thanks to the generous support of the Boulder Library Foundation, Boulder Community Health Foundation, and the Boulder JCC.
