Hugo servers as the Recruitment and Diverse Scholars聽Program Coordinator at Environmental Design. As聽the聽recruiter, he collaborates with ENVD鈥檚 advising team, CU Boulder鈥檚 Admissions team聽and with local high schools to inform students of the opportunities available for them in a聽career in environmental design聽in the fields of environmental product design, architecture, landscape architecture聽and sustainable planning & urban design.
As the coordinator for Diverse Scholars, he oversees a scholarship聽program聽for students from historically underrepresented backgrounds.聽He supervises the student board leadership team for the scholarship program and聽collaborates with other CU student organizations, professional organization, and with ENVD聽undergraduate education & student success聽team to help create a supportive environment and host聽programming聽for聽ENVD's Diverse Scholars聽to help create connections聽& career prep聽with peers, staff聽and Faculty.聽
Prior to CU Boulder,聽Hugo comes from the city of Phoenix聽where he worked for over 10 years in grassroots organizing and community building. Hugo received his Associates from Phoenix College in Computer Information Systems. He also has experience in IT, with over 8聽years ranging from entry level tech to System Engineer for a High School District. His passion has always been education and supporting student development and growth beyond education.
