Coloring impact, disrupting mining industry influence on Canadian education curricula

Canada is notorious for its scenic old-growth forests, mouthwatering maple syrup, fervent enthusiasm for ice hockey and notably amiable people. But Canada also boasts a lesser-known aspect that is just as deeply ingrained in its culture and history: its expansive and extractive mining industry. 鈥淲hat it Takes: an all-ages colouring book鈥� is designed to disrupt the grip that Canada鈥檚 mining industry has on culture and education. Brian Muller

Brian Muller is an associate professor in the Environmental Design Program at the University of Colorado Boulder, where he teaches environment and land use planning, planning history and spatial analysis. He holds an undergraduate degree from Yale University and a Ph.D. in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of California Berkeley. Read more鈥�

Emily Greenwood

Emily Greenwood is an Instructor in the Environmental Design Program at the聽University of Colorado Boulder, specializing in聽landscape architecture, urban planning聽 and ecological design.聽Emily鈥檚 professional work focuses on the design of sustainable native landscapes, wetland design, ecological restoration, trail and trailhead design, the design of playgrounds and learning landscapes, and meaningful residential landscape designs. Marcel de Lange

Marcel has a Master鈥檚 Degree in Architecture and Architectural Engineering from the Delft University of Technology. (Delft is a QS top 20聽 university of technology worldwide.)聽Marcel is a licensed contractor, creative manager and has extensive experience in file to factory processes, fabrication, construction and design.聽He specializes in digital design and fabrication as well as聽computer modeling and building information modeling.聽Read more鈥�

Danielle Rivera

Dr. Danielle Zoe Rivera is an urban designer and urban planner. Her research engages issues of urban informality and decolonization through both design and policy. These professional and theoretical inquiries frequently draw her to study community organizing, environmental justice, and social movements.聽Rivera鈥檚 current research examines urban informality in low-income Latino/a communities, primarily Mexican-American and Puerto Rican communities.聽Read more鈥�
