Welcome to the fall 2023 semester! As you prepare for your courses and research, I wanted to reach out and make you aware of all the activities and resources available to students and faculty.

The is a one-stop hub to help students chart their career path, gain relevant experience, and grow their professional network. Check out these great ProReady resources and events!

  • Engineering Career Services (ECS): The ECS team has great resources, workshops, and fairs for students and faculty to utilize!
  • Education Abroad: Applications to study abroad in spring 2024 are open! Please encourage students to explore recommended programs by term and major. We’re also thrilled to announce CU’s inaugural , offered through Engineering Management, in which students can earn their entire EMP or entrepreneurship minor in fall 2024. Contact Andrew Wingfield to schedule a study abroad presentation or general questions.
  • Undergraduate Research: Students can apply for the spring 2024 ³Û°¿±«â€™R·¡°ª°ä±« program in fall 2023, as well as CU Summer Program for Undergraduate Research (SPUR) and Discovery Learning Apprenticeship (DLA) programs early in spring 2024. Faculty can also submit their SPUR and DLA projects in spring 2024. Contact Sharon Anderson with questions.
  • Student Leadership Development: Encourage students to forge their engineering leadership journey! Students can connect with student societies at Engineering Immersion (Thursday, Sept. 7) and develop their leadership skills at the Engineering Connections Student Leadership Summit (Saturday, October 21).

Top 5 ways to support your students’ ProReady development this year:

  1. Embed ProReady content into your courses and assignments, including websites (ECS, Education Abroad, Undergraduate Research) and Career Exploration & Readiness modules.
  2. Widely distribute the Fall 2023 Engineering Career Services events flyer via email, Canvas, or printed copies to students during class, advising sessions, and office hours.
  3. Encourage and incentivize students to utilize ProReady resources and services. When possible, provide flexibility for students to attend career & internship fairs.
  4. Participate in a , an advocacy training for faculty and staff delivered in a virtual format.  
  5. Contact Ben Weihrauch to discuss ways to integrate ProReady elements into your department, course, or advising sessions.
