Ski Bus questions

Ìý I can't make the trip anymore. Can I get a refund?

The policy has shifted from a strict "no refunds" policy to a more flexible one.ÌýYou may also sell your ticket to another student atÌýface-value ($25).

  1. Refund Request Window:ÌýStudents can now request a refund, but they need to do so at least 7 days in advance of the event.

  2. Refund Deduction:ÌýEventbrite fees will be deducted from the refund amount. This implies that the student won't receive the full ticket price back, as a portion will go towards covering Eventbrite's fees.

  3. Refund Options:ÌýStudents have two options for the refunded amount - they can either get a refund to their credit card or opt for a credit that can be used for future ski bus ticket purchases.Ìý

Ìý ÌýI can't make the bus, who do I notify?

You don't need to notify anyone. If you sell or give away your ticket, the new rider will need to tell us who they are riding for. If you don't show up we will sell your empty seat as a stand-by.

Ìý ÌýWho do I notify if I sell my ticket?

No notification is necessary, the new rider will tell the manager who they are taking the place of. You can't sell a HERD discounted ticket to a non-HERD member though.

Ìý Are stand-by tickets available? How do I get a ticket if the bus is sold out?

Yes, you can get on the bus at any pickup location. We can't guaranteeÌýa spot for you until Franklin Field, tickets are $25Ìývia credit card only and to date we've only had one trip where we couldn't accomodate everyone.

Ìý I am a HERD member but there are no more seats available.

There are only 20 Herd seats available per bus, if that quota is filled there are only regularly priced seats available.Ìý

Ìý Can we stay at the mountain overnight and catch the bus the next day?

Please e-mailÌýskibus@colorado.eduÌýat least 3 days prior to your trip plans.Ìý

Ìý What if I miss the bus?

The bus leaves the mountain at 4 p.m. sharp (earlier for traffic or weather concerns). It can be delayed in case of emergency. If you miss the bus completely you are responsible for finding your own way back home.

Ìý When does the bus leave the resort to head home?

The bus typically leaves at 4 p.m., but this depends on numerous variables such asÌýtraffic, road conditions, or expected weather. The student manager will make a very clear announcement in the morning to clarify the departure time.Ìý

Ìý Can I change the date of my ticket?

No, you are welcome to sell the ticket or give it away and buy a new ticket for the new date.

Ìý Do I need a ski/snowboard bag and where do I put my gear?

Feel free to use a bag to keep your gear shiny clean. All gear that you don't want to carry in your lap or put in the small overhead bin will be put in the secured bays below the bus.Ìý

Ìý Where do I put my stuff while skiing/boarding?Ìý

You can leave items on the bus, but you won't be able to access it until the end of the day right before we depart. In other words, you should take that delicious PB&J with you for lunch.Ìý

Ìý Is the $25Ìýticket a round trip ticket?

Yes, we are the best deal in town and each ticket is a round trip ticket.Ìý

Ìý Can I just use the ski bus for a one-way trip?

Yes, if you just need a return trip to Boulder you must let us know at least 3 days in advance of the trip by emailingÌýskibus@colorado.edu.Ìý This gives us enough time to reply with the ski bus student managers cell phone number which you’ll need to coordinate the bus location and resort departure time. This also allows us to hold a seat for you on the return to Boulder trip.

If you just want a trip to the resort and have another ride back to Boulder, let the student manager know as you board the bus in the morning.
