International scholar and speaker in the field of tracking objects in space and space junk.

Served for eight years as director of the U.S. Air Force Advanced Sciences and Technology Research Institute for Aeronautics (ASTRIA), leading satellite guidance, navigation and control projects, as well as the institute’s Space Situational Awareness program.

Dedicated volunteer to the college, supervising graduate students and serving on doctoral committees.

Designed navigation software and trajectory plans for NASA, the European Space Agency and the Japanese Space Agency on multiple successful Mars missions, including the Mars Global Surveyor, Mars Odyssey, Mars Express, Mars Exploration Rovers, MUSES-C and the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter.
