Franklin听Chilaka听is a first-year doctoral student in the Educational Foundations, Policy and Practice (EFPP) Ph.D.听program in the School of Education at the University of Colorado Boulder. His research interest examines the relationship between holistic mentorship and Black LGBTQ men's self-efficacy听and persistence in higher education. Prior to joining the Crown Institute,听Franklin听served in many higher education roles in residence life, student conduct, affinity-based mentoring, and first year experience. Born and raised in California,听Franklin听holds an MA in Student Affairs Administration from Michigan State University and a BA in Sociology and Black Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara.听Franklin听works on the Mindful Campus Program. In his free听time,听Franklin听enjoys being active, music, cooking and spending time with friends and family.听
