Kirk Siegler (Jour’00) is a national correspondent for NPR News covering the Western U.S. for shows like Morning Edition and All Things Considered.

Much of his coverage focuses on rural issues and climate change’s effects on smaller communities. Recently, his assignments have taken him to Nevanda and Arizona, where he’s covered Indigenous groups protesting mines on ancestral lands.

Siegler grew up in Montana and, apart from a brief stint in Sydney, Australia, has spent most of his adult life living and working in the American West.
