  • ART AND ART HISTORY

Brittany Ashley (she/they) is pursuing a Master’s in Art History at CU Boulder. Their research focuses on making art museums more accessible to those who find them alienating, uninviting, inaccessible, or blatantly discriminatory. They are also investigating an approach to art-making and institutional critique that has been called ‘museumist art’. It includes modern and contemporary art that comments upon museum culture or otherwise uses museum collections as medium for artworks.

As part of the Engaged Arts and Humanities Scholar 2024-2025 cohort, they plan to create an interdisciplinary community project that brings together art history, health sciences, and other approaches for spreading essential information about Covid-19.
