Headshot of William Seites-Rundlett
Civil Systems

Originally from Rhode Island, Bill previously worked in construction management for the Rhode Island DOT and as a hull structures engineer on naval submarines for General Dynamics. He observed that projects often experience setbacks without comprehensive stakeholder engagement and mutual understanding of design principles. This experience sparked an interest in inter-disciplinary collaboration and working across the different 鈥渟ilos鈥 encountered in large engineering organizations. His academic interests focus on the emergent dynamics of systems as they relate to the ultimate performance, sustainability, and resilience of infrastructure systems. He is currently working to support the 2019 revision of the WHO Guidelines for Drinking-water Quality. Outside of school, Bill places an emphasis on community engagement through volunteerism and participation in various sports groups, notably ultimate frisbee, basketball, and trail running.
