      1. Reminder of our Mission Statement:

        1. The Cultural Events Board aims to broaden cultural knowledge by supporting the voices of underrepresented and misrepresented groups on campus, thereby promoting student engagement with their platforms. The Cultural Events Board encourages opportunities for interaction among students resulting in respect, appreciation, and understanding for cultural differences.

  1. 7:20 PM - Multicultural Greek Council “MGC Yardshow 2022”, October 25th 5:00-10:00 p.m.

      1. Yardshow is meant to highlight the cultural diversity and histories of the Greek chapters on campus at CU

      2. Also meant to commemorate and honor the Divine Nine through strolling and stepping

      3. What they hope to accomplish:

        1. Giving students a home away from home experience at CU

          1. Especially for students of color

        2. Will be a platform to educate people on the history of the Divine Nine

        3. Help the process of bringing the Divine Nine back to CU

        4. Helping students of color be themselves while also encouraging creativity of performances

        5. Work to expand MGC

      4. Improvement from last yardshow:

        1. Improving advertisement by using posters

        2. Having more stage presence

          1. Use better utilities

        3. Get a better DJ/sound equipment

        4. Decorate better this year

        5. Have items that attract an audience

          1. Photo booth

      1. Do you plan to incorporate the history of the Divine Nine into your yardshow event?

        1. yes.

      2. The MGC yardshow will be open to all students. How will you market or promote your event so that not only MGC or Greek Affiliated students are encouraged or inclined to attend?

        1. Each individual org will also do their own promoting

          1. Not only in Boulder but also across other cities in Colorado

        2. Also capitalizing on the fact they are now a part of Homecoming week

        3. Tabling during Fall Welcome and at the UMC

        4. Update the website with up-to-date information

        5. Using the digital screens across campus

        6. Also working with ResLife to promote to freshmen

      3. How exactly will you be educating the attendees about the historical significance of what they are partaking in?

        1. Have a presentation before the opening of the event that is focused on the Divine Nine and the emergence of the Stepping and Strolling

          1. Can also share presentation with CEB

          2. Could also involve Divine Nine members who now work at CU.

      1. They seem to have a good level of in-depth knowledge regarding the historical and cultural significance of their event.

        1. So, for if you are liaisoning and want to double check that your org has everything they need, or want to refer them to anything, it’s a good resource and is under the “funding cycles” folder under the ceb folder

      1. We have decided on sending a request form for RM for our first fall speaker

        1. According to Rich she should be ok with doing events like this one

        2. If RM falls through our second choice would be TF from queer eye

      2. Ornella and Allie- start thinking about advertising for our first fall event, we NEED to have good attendance if an icon like RM comes

        1. I would suggest reaching out to the theater department and ask if they want to get involved with writing questions or anything else.

      3. August - start making the ROD of our first fall event. This should be pretty similar to Angelica’s so look at that ROD’s for inspiration

        1. No rush at this stage but the sooner we get that the sooner we all know what it will look like on the day of.

      4. There has been a lot of talk about different style events for this next year and I want to consolidate all of our ideas and give us a chance to share some of our ideas for that.

        1. I want to do this now to see what sort of speakers or people we need and start thinking about bringing them now

          1. We already have a beautiful proposal by August for his Inclusivity in the Outdoors event. I also know that we are interested in doing a cooking event.

      2. I was reading through our bylaws and the CUSG Constitution… two things i noticed:

        1. “These liaisons shall abide by all stated responsibilities of Board associates.” - CEB Bylaws

        2. “The Representative-At-Large will be designated as a budgetary member, per the CU Student Government Constitution.”

          1. The constitution actually doesn’t say this anymore…
