So, you’re a college graduate! Now what?

For many college graduates, the receipt of a college diploma is a ceremonial leap into the real world. The transition from college to career can be difficult waters to navigate, which is why Career ServicesÌýoffers unlimited resources for CU Boulder alums.

Career Services and the Alumni Association are partners in providing help for young alums to find meaningful careers after graduation. Here’s everything you have access to now that you’re a Forever Buff!

Unlimited career help during your first year out of college

New graduates receive free career advising for one year after graduation.ÌýSet up an appointmentÌýwith any career development advisor for anything from résuméÌýhelp to job search strategies to interview preparation.

After your first year, you get two free appointments each year with an alumni career advisor; $30 after that. They can be available for in-person, Skype and phone appointments.

Attend workshops, events exclusively for alumni

There are new events every month for alumni to attend, including webinars on professional and career-related topics. Attend theÌýAlumni Career Transition Series, at which you will learn from career and personality assessments like the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. You can also attend any Career Services event.

Network with fellow Forever Buffs—find a local alumni chapter

Building your network of connections is an essential part of the job search. In fact, more than 85 percent of positions are filled through networking. So, why not use yourÌýÌýCU Boulder alumni?

No matter where you go after graduation, there’s likely aÌýCU Boulder alumni chapterÌýnear you. Connect with fellow Forever Buffs in your city by attending alumni events and CU athletics watch parties.

Access to thousands of jobs through Handshake

As an alum, you can continue utilizing any of the university's career tools, including Handshake. More than 14,000 employers post positions specific for CU Boulder students and alumni on this platform. Career Services vets all of them to make sure they’re a good fit for you.
