The Burridge Center for Finance held its 2020 Conference on February 27鈥�28. The annual event showcases industry thought leadership, challenges and trends in the finance industry. This year鈥檚 theme focused on sustainable investing. Nearly 200 attended to hear more than 25 speakers, including Colorado鈥檚 39th Secretary of State Jena Griswold and Alice Jackson, President of Xcel Energy Colorado.
Presented over two days between Boulder and Denver, the conference started with opening remarks delivered by Griswold before an evening of panel discussions. The discussions that centered on environmental, social and governance (ESG); the increased demand for corporate transparency; and how environmental and social issues can impact funds, organizations and individual investors.
The conference reconvened the following morning in Boulder. Set against the dramatic views of the Flatirons and Folsom Field, Jena Griswold and Heidi VanGenderen, CU Boulder鈥檚 first Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) kicked off the day's events by sharing their perspectives on the intersectionality of regulation, sustainability and fostering economic growth.
According to Burridge Center for Finance Executive Director Roberto Caccia, 鈥淭he Burridge Conference continues to harness CU Boulder鈥檚 home-grown talent and research by hosting a forum, where students can connect with industry thought-leaders and have open discussions about the future of finance.鈥�
