Nathalie Moyen is a Professor of Finance and the W.W. Reynolds Capital Markets Program Chair at the Leeds School of Business, and she is also an Affiliated Faculty at the Department of Applied Mathematics of the University of Colorado Boulder.
One central goal of economics is the desire to maximize wellbeing.听听As a consequence, it is important to allocate our scarce resources wisely.听听When our financial markets function well, they support the firms that can transform those resources most efficiently using technology-embedded capital assets and labor expertise into goods and services valued by our society.听听To understand the role of finance on society, Nathalie studies firms' capital investment and production decisions, and the extent to which these decisions depend on the way they are financed.听听Her research focuses on some of the most salient interactions between real and financial decisions, such as debt overhang, financial constraints, learning from cash flows, precautionary cash savings, strategic positioning vis-脿-vis rivals, among other topics.听
Nathalie primarily teaches MBAs and first-year undergrads.听听Nathalie loves teaching, and she has been honored with several awards at Leeds in addition to the Judith C. and William G. Bollinger Teaching Award when she visited at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 2007-08.听听While chairing the Finance Division in 2020-2024, she enjoyed taking care of people and programs.
