Charlie grew up in a north suburb of Chicago and lived there until moving away for undergrad at Vanderbilt University. He graduated with a major in Human & Organizational Development and minors in Economics and Corporate Strategy. Some of his most influential undergraduate experiences, however, were his extracurricular activities; during his four years at Vanderbilt, Charlie performed in four musicals, participated in a co-ed a cappella group, launched a new chapter of a national fraternity, wrote advice columns for the student newspaper, and explored Nashville on the weekends. After graduating, Charlie spent six years working in various roles for tech companies in Pittsburgh, Melbourne (Australia), Chicago, and Denver, and continued his education by earning a master's degree in data science from Northwestern University. In 2021, Charlie made his transition into education by joining a high school public charter network in Denver as a math teacher and college advisor. He's been at CU Boulder since Fall 2022.

Charlie is an avid explorer of urban places and a life-long Chicago Cubs fan. He is a proud data science enthusiast and attempts the New York Times crossword almost every day (challenge him to a race in the Daily Mini and you’ll be sorry!).
