Bella Malherbe
Art History

Bella Malherbe is currently pursuing a BAM (Batchelor’s Accelerated Masters) in Art History at CU Boulder. In her undergraduate thesis, Bella focused on the potentials of the Black queer body to disrupt essentializing narratives within ethics of the Anthropocene, using Zanele Muholi’s Bhekisisa, Sakouli Beach, Mayotte as a case study. Her current research seeks to expand this work by exploring queer ecology, lesbian bodies, and the photograph as a living object. In addition to her studies, Bella is a lead museum attendant at the CU Art Museum where she assisted in the curation of Better Days.Ìý
