Dr. William Schafer has been involved in higher education for over 40 years at 9 different universities. He has served several national organizations including the Association of Public and Land-Grant Universities (APLU) and the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA). Dr. Schafer earned a bachelor鈥檚 degree in chemical engineering, a master鈥檚 in guidance and counseling, and doctorate in higher education administration and curriculum, all from CU Boulder. He also attended Harvard鈥檚 Management Development Program.聽Dr. Schafer is currently a Higher Education Consultant providing interim leadership to universities. Dr. Schafer has provided interim leadership to Ohio University, University of Pittsburgh Bradford and Central Washington University. Bill鈥檚 career has included leadership positions at West Virginia University, Georgia Institute of Technology, University of Texas at El Paso, University of Denver, Illinois Institute of Technology, and CU Boulder.聽Bill and his wife Teresa live in Morgantown, WV and have twin daughters. One of Bill鈥檚 daughters graduated from CU Boulder and the other daughter attends West Virginia University. Bill is an avid outdoor enthusiast and enjoys running, hiking, cross-country skiing, and golf. Bill is very proud to have completed all 43 Bolder Boulder 10K runs since its inception.
