Darla Thompson

Darla Thompson is Senior Project Director in the Inclusive STEMM Ecosystems for Equity & Diversity at the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Darla directs SEA Change Biomedicine, a component of STEMM Equity Achievement (SEA) Change that supports systemic transformation in the academic biomedical and health sciences. Previously, she served as faculty and senior program manager for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Health Policy Research Scholars at The George Washington University, a leadership program for doctoral students from systemically and historically excluded populations who are contributing to creating more just, equitable, and healthier communities. Darla has held positions at the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine and Middlebury College. Darla holds a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Colorado Boulder, an M.A. in Sociology from the University of California Santa Cruz, an M.A. in Public Policy, Philosophy, and Social Policy from The George Washington University, and a Ph.D. in Science and Technology Studies from Cornell University.
